The Congregation of Mother of Carmel is the first indigenous congregation for women in the Syro-Malaloar Church it was started at Koonammavu-Kerala on 13th February 1866 by the combined effort of St.Chavara Kuriakose Eliah and italian Missionary Fr.Leopold Boeearo O.C.D., the then carmelite delegate in Kerala. The Charism of CMC is depicted in the motto "Remain united to me in contemplation and consecrated to me in action" Our congregation aims at the christian formation of the people of God, especially women and children through the apostolate of education,caring for the sick and destitute,social and familial services and such other activities according to the needs of the church and the people of the locality.
To cater to the educational needs of the people around this English Medium school was started on 1st June 1988 Now if has a strength of 1200 from the K.G classes to the 10th classes from one to ten have been recognised by the state Government Andhra Pradesh it is an educational institution under the Carmel Jyothi Region Kurnool we have 62 teaching staff and 8 non teaching staff.
